EMS for the face is no longer an insider tip from the beauty salon. With a handy device, you can treat yourself to a small beauty treatment at home in just six minutes. To make it comfortable and to let the device glide properly over the skin, however, you need the right serum. Here you will find out why, what to look out for during use and how to combine our Lifting Glow Face Serum with the EMS & Light Therapy Device.
Why you need a serum for EMS on the face
An EMS device sends gentle electrical impulses to the skin. For these impulses to arrive evenly, good contact between the device and the skin is needed. On dry skin the device drags, the impulses become uneven and the application feels less pleasant.
A water-based serum lets the device glide easily over the skin and keeps the contact intact. At the same time, you use the treatment time to care for your skin. The only important thing: your skin should stay moist throughout. If it dries out, simply apply a little more serum.
The Lifting Glow Face Serum: developed especially for EMS
Our Lifting Glow Face Serum is the Edition by Alisa and was developed for exactly this purpose: as a daily facial care product and as a partner for the EMS & Light Therapy Device. The light, water-based texture spreads easily without weighing the skin down and is fragrance-free.
What's inside:
- Niacinamide for a more even-looking complexion
- A smoothing peptide (Acetyl Hexapeptide-8) that makes fine lines look softer
- Hyaluronic acid for intensive moisture
- Collagen amino acids for a supple skin feel
- Jojoba oil and vitamin E as caring companions
The serum also works perfectly without the device: two to three drops on your face, neck and décolleté morning and evening are your daily moisture and glow boost.
EMS on the face: step-by-step application
- Cleanse your skin. Start with clean skin, free of make-up.
- Apply the serum generously. For use with the device, take a little more serum than usual and apply it section by section, for example to one half of your face first.
- Set up the device. Choose the light mode you want and start with one of the lower of the five EMS levels. This lets you get used to the tingling sensation and increase the intensity slowly later.
- Move slowly upwards and outwards. Guide the device over the skin with calm movements, for example from the chin along the jawline to the ear, from the corners of the mouth to the cheekbones and upwards on the forehead. Close your eyes when working near them and make sure no serum gets into your eyes. The device beeps briefly every minute: that's your cue to move on to the next area of your face.
- Re-moisten. If your skin feels dry or the device no longer glides well, apply a little more serum.
- Massage in the rest. After six minutes, the device switches off automatically. Then gently massage in the remaining serum. You can care for your neck and décolleté at the same time.

Which light mode suits you?
The EMS & Light Therapy Device has three light modes that you can choose depending on your care goal:
- Red light for firmer, tighter-looking skin, ideal as an anti-aging step.
- Green light for calming care when your skin feels stressed.
- Blue light for a more even-looking complexion.

You can also alternate between the modes and find out what feels best for you. Learn more about the three colours in our guide Red, Green, Blue Light: Which LED Colour Does What?
How often should you use EMS on the face?
For the device, we recommend one six-minute session two to three times a week. On all other days, you can use the serum as usual morning and evening. This turns both into a routine that fits easily into everyday life, especially in the winter months, when cold air and heating make your skin need more moisture.
When you should avoid EMS
EMS is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it, for example, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with a pacemaker or other implanted devices, with metallic dental implants, on injured, irritated or inflamed skin, with fresh sunburn or after facial procedures without medical approval. If you have a medical condition, talk to your doctor first. Please read the device's instructions for use before using it for the first time.
Device and serum as a set
If you want to try both, the Signature Face Lift Duo is the easiest choice: the EMS & Light Therapy Device and the Lifting Glow Face Serum together in one set, cheaper than buying them separately. And because the device is not only made for the face, you can also use it on your legs, arms or stomach. Read more in our guide EMS device for the whole body.
